Materials
Natural and recycled fibres, chosen one by one.
The character of a rug begins in the fibre. We weave with natural, biodegradable fibres —wool, silk, linen, jute and hemp— and with bamboo silk. For outdoor spaces we also work with recycled PET, which clients ask for more and more. And a bespoke rug is not started until you have approved the design.
The fibres
Seven materials, seven ways of taking the light.
01 / 07
New Zealand wool
Natural wool that takes colour with saturation and consistency. Soft and durable, it insulates against sound and heat and resists dirt, because it repels liquids. It is a resilient fibre: after shipping, simply let the rug rest and the pile regains its texture and height. Biodegradable.
02 / 07
Silk
One of the strongest natural fibres. Its structure reflects light, giving a natural sheen, vivid colour and a smooth, soft hand that makes a rug feel special.
03 / 07
Bamboo silk
A fibre with a sheen close to cashmere and great durability. Soft, strong, light and breathable.
04 / 07
Linen
Possibly the oldest fibre used by humankind. Two to three times stronger than silk or cotton; a natural wax gives it a subtle sheen. Strong, breathable, keeps its shape and holds no static.
05 / 07
Jute
The golden fibre: long, soft, with a silky, warm-gold sheen. A cellulose plant fibre: biodegradable, insulating and antistatic.
06 / 07
Hemp
A plant fibre, highly resistant to wear and moisture; it softens with use without losing body. Biodegradable.
07 / 07
Recycled PET
A technical fibre made from recycled PET (polyethylene terephthalate). Our clients ask for it more and more: it is highly resistant and especially suited to outdoor spaces such as terraces and porches. It is the only one of our fibres that is not biodegradable —it is plastic— and we would rather tell you plainly.
Hand and material
Fibres chosen with the hand, not the eye alone.
We combine wool, silk and plant fibres according to the use and atmosphere of each space. The right blend defines the weight, the sheen and the warmth of the rug.
Colour
Any colour. Chosen by hand.
We weave every rug to order, in any size, design, quality and colour. Our palette is organised into tonal families that serve as a starting point for any project, and before weaving you choose the colour with the sample in front of you.
